About

Hey, I’m Lea (as in ‘tea’)

I’m a marketing straight-shooter, messaging specialist, and internationally certified results coach.

Not a single one of my clients came to me because they love marketing. Some downright ignored it. But they all understood the same universal truth:

A business can’t survive without work coming in the door.

Most of the coaches, consultants, and service-based founders I work with aren’t stuck or failing. They’re simply tired.

…Tired of guessing their way through.
…Tired of half-using LinkedIn.
…Tired of missing out on good work opportunities.

If this sounds like you, I’ve got good news.

You’re not behind.

You’ve outgrown the guesswork, and you’re ready for something that finally makes sense… especially when it comes to your messaging and LinkedIn.

That’s exactly where my work begins.

How I work (and why it feels different)

A lot of marketing help comes with strings attached.

Long contracts, big promises, and an expectation you’ll show up everywhere, follow someone else’s system, and sound like everyone else in your industry.

That’s not how I work.

I don’t push you into platforms, styles, or strategies that don’t fit.

I don’t sell flashy hacks or 17-step formulas.

And I don’t pretend marketing needs to be louder or harder than it already is.

Instead, I help you make sense of what you already have, what’s worth fixing, and what you can safely ignore.

We start with the inner work, the part most people skip:

✓  What actually makes your work valuable
✓  Why it matters to the right people
✓  How to explain it simply, in your own words

Then we connect that to the outer work, the part the world sees and feels:

✓  Messaging that’s clear, genuine, and compelling
✓  Intentional, joined-up marketing across LinkedIn, your website, emails, and client conversations

What clients notice first is how much lighter everything starts to feel.

They often tell me they feel clearer, calmer, and more confident because I make the complex simple, help them think differently, and keep the process fun.

More about me and why I work this way

Before I worked in marketing, I spent two decades as a community pharmacist.

Day after day, I learned how to look beyond symptoms, ask better questions, and help people understand what really mattered so they could make confident decisions.

That way of thinking still shapes how I work today.

Whether it’s health or business, the real issue is rarely a lack of information. It’s self-doubt, overwhelm, and getting stuck in our own heads.

After 20 years in pharmacy, moving into marketing might sound like a big pivot. And it was.

But writing had always been part of my world. Years of hobby blogging led to feature writing for major global platforms, and eventually into copywriting and marketing work.

Like many business owners, I got swept up in the pressure to be louder and everywhere at once.

It didn’t stick, so I deliberately built something that did.

With over 12 years’ experience in marketing and messaging, and trained by Australia’s top copywriters and coaches (Kate Toon, Bernadette Schwerdt, and Benjamin J Harvey), I bring a mix of psychology, wordsmithing, and practical know-how to everything I do.

Work aside, here’s what fills my days

If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably the curious type. Here’s the backstory that doesn’t usually make it into my LinkedIn posts.

I live on the North West Coast of Tasmania, on a few bushy acres near Devonport, where we share the space with countless wallabies and potoroos, colourful birdlife, and the occasional curious snake.

Our two lazy cats stay well out of the way, claiming all the inside sunny spots.

My husband and I are the co-creators of three pretty cool kids – a daughter and two sons. Two are typical eye-rolling, late-sleeping, all-knowing teenagers, while our youngest still bounces out of bed to build Lego before breakfast.

Life is full – but in the best way.

When I’m not working, I’m usually unplugged and hiking in the mountains, baking whatever sweet treats go well with a cup of tea, or planning the next perfect prank on my kids (though now they’re older, the risk of retaliation is high).

Our family is heavily involved in our local surf life saving club, which makes sense given how much time we spend at the beach, summer or winter.

Add music to the mix (anything but country and opera), and most weekends involve sing-alongs, pancakes, and a fair bit of noise.

What it’s like to work together

Cathy O’Dwyer

Principal Consultant, O’Dwyer Accreditation

Lea is generous with her knowledge and time. She gives the specific information needed to get MY marketing rolling in a sustainable way. Not just general marketing speak.

The marketing for my consultancy business lacked a clear and comprehensive process. I’ve done other marketing training, but Lea’s program is the only one that covers the whole system I need.

The marketing and sales system I’ve set up with Lea’s help makes sure I get all the information I need, that I don’t miss anything, AND that the client understands what will happen next. It’s also a system I can easily hand over to others in my business to follow.

I definitely recommend working with Lea! Especially if you’ve been trying different things and feel like you haven’t got a routine that works for you and brings in properly qualified leads.

With Lea’s help, we have achieved great outcomes across our digital content, including increasing web traffic and search engine rankings.

I met Lea to discuss optimising our website for an enhanced client experience. She was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable across not only website content but a range of media interfaces. This led to expanding Lea’s scope and I progressed with engaging her to improve the readability of not only our website but newsletters and media releases.

She was able to articulate in a way management could understand, and we have achieved great outcomes across our digital content, including increasing web traffic and search engine rankings (through SEO). We also have received positive feedback with our new-look newsletters.

I continue to engage Lea and would most definitely recommend her to other businesses.

The process was so simple: Lea had me fill out a form and then she just whipped it all up! I’m sure it was more complex behind the scenes, but for me, it was such an easy process.

I cannot express how amazing it was to work with Lea on the copy for our website. My business was in its 10th year, so I decided to give the website a much-needed refresh, and I was very lucky to be able to work with Lea and have her assist me in generating the written content.

The process was simple: she had me fill out a form and then from there she just whipped it all up! I am sure it was more complex behind the scenes, but for me, it was such an easy process.

When you have been working in your business for so long it can be hard to take a step back and look at it from your customers’ perspective, so it was so beneficial to have someone else write up what I was finding hard to get into words.

I have had so many comments on how the words on our website speak to our clients and they feel a connection, which is over and above anything I could have hoped for. From my jumbled mess of ideas and information to really portray what we do and how we want to be known – Lea truly nailed it.

I’ve recommended Lea several times to my own clients and have no hesitations sharing her name. I look forward to working with her on many other projects!
